When your pet is feeling too sick to travel, we can come to you. Our home visits are dependent upon the availability of our vets, so please try to phone us as early as possible if you’d like to make an appointment for that day. If you think your pet will be able to make the trip to see us, we can recommend numerous taxi services which are experienced in transporting sick animals.

We will see emergencies at any time, please telephone so we know you are on your way. Out of hours, we can provide you with 24-hour emergency service if your pet has a sudden accident. We do this via Vets Now, a dedicated 24-hour service based in Preston. This means that when you telephone us you may be given details of another practice to contact to receive care.

Our consultations run from:

Mondays to Friday : 9am-11.30am and 2pm-7pm
Saturday : 9am-1pm
Sunday : 2pm-4pm

Request a Repeat Prescription

Legal Notice

Prescriptions are available from this practice.

You may obtain Prescription Only Medicines, Category V, (POM-Vs) from your veterinary surgeon or ask for a prescription and obtain these medicines from another veterinary surgeon or a pharmacy. We need 24 hours notice to supply a written prescription. Prescriptions will not be written during a consultation as time is not provided for this.

Your veterinary surgeon may prescribe POM Vs only for animals under his or her care.

A prescription may not be appropriate if your animal is an in-patient or immediate treatment is necessary.

You will be informed, on request, of the price of any medicine that may be prescribed for your animal.

The general policy of this practice is to re-assess an animal requiring repeat prescriptions every 3 months, but this may vary with individual circumstances. There is a charge for this examination, please contact us for the current fee.

Further information on the prices of medicines is available on request.

Please note there is usually a consultation fee to pay each time you see a veterinary surgeon.

  • Laser therapy is commonly used in veterinary practices in the UK.
  • Many clinicians see the therapy as an attractive alternative to drugs.
  • Laser is delivered by a mobile unit that takes into consideration the weight, skin colour and condition it is treating, as well as different probes being available for differing sizes of dog and contact type required.
  • Laser promotes healing, repair and reduces inflammation and swelling. It stimulates nerves to induce pain relief and reduces tenderness and relaxes tight muscles.

LASER therapy is recommended for many conditions an animal may suffer including, but not limited to:
  • Pain relief
  • Degenerative joint disease
  • Inflammation
  • Muscle tonicity
  • Wound healing
  • Nerve damage
  • Tendon/ligament/muscle damage
  • Fracture healing
  • Lick granuloma

Benefits of LASER:
  • Fast, efficient relief
  • Tolerated well by animals
  • Reduces the need for any more medication or steroid injection
  • Results are seen very quickly
  • Cheaper intervention than surgery

We work with practices around our local area of Preston, taking on surgical cases that can’t be managed elsewhere and creating affordable treatment plans designed to address the needs of both clients and patients.

Our modern, friendly practice is fully equipped to handle a vast range of healthcare solutions, from orthopaedic procedures to soft tissue surgery. We have a highly skilled and experienced team of nurses to assist Suanne.

Suanne Bly with a turtle.

Suanne Bly, Cert AVP (GSAS), has an RCVS certificate in Advanced Small Animal Surgery which means she can undertake advanced surgical procedures. Helping pets recover from serious healthcare issues is her biggest career motivation, and she provides our vital surgical referral service.

In work, she dedicates every minute of her day to consulting and operating on patients, putting her wealth of experience performing veterinary surgical procedures to good use.

Booking into our referral service

Rest assured, if you’re ever in need of our surgical expertise, we’ll work with your vet to ensure your pet gets the care they deserve, at a competitive price.

We’re happy to be able to accept referral requests from local practices online or by email. In the case of an emergency, please phone 01772 330103 to make an urgent referral – a member of the team will be there to help.

We invest a lot of time and money in our services to ensure our facilities are modern and comfortable for your pets. Our expert facilities mean you can enjoy great services.

Cat waiting area

We are passionate about caring for your pets. Your cat can become more stressed than other animals when forced to socialise with dogs or rabbits in the practice waiting room. That’s why our calm and well-designed ‘comfortable cat’ waiting area exists – to give your furry friend a relaxing visit when they see us.

Taking your pet abroad

Plan ahead if you want your pet to travel abroad – they can only be authorised by a fully qualified veterinary surgeon. We have the facilities to check your pet thoroughly for illness and provide it with the immunisations and paperwork it requires before it can travel to other countries.

Grooming

To keep your pet looking spick and span, we’ve associated ourselves with local dog grooming specialists MutzCutz. One of our vets can be present in case your dog needs any specialist treatment, or sedation for grooming.

Young at Heart

Geriatric wellness checks are a vital part of life for older pets. Our Young at Heart tests involve a comprehensive check-up for your animal, and involves blood tests, and an examination for any underlying conditions such as skin, dental, eye or digestive problems.

Pet euthanasia and cremation services

If your pet is in unmanageable pain or his or her quality of life is too poor, we can also provide a caring euthanasia service. We can do this as a house visit or you can have an appointment at the surgery.

Contact us for more details.

After euthanasia or in the sad event that your pet is no longer with us, we can arrange a simple and respectful cremation. Options include;

Taking your pet home for burial.

Having cremation and your pet’s ashes back to you in a personalised casket.

Having a routine cremation where the ashes are kept by the crematorium.

We can also provide paw prints or hair clippings as memories if required.

Pet behaviour problems

Some pets can suffer from behavioural problems, such as over-excitability, territorial aggression, destructiveness, insecurity and much more.

In the event of any behavioural difficulties, we can refer you and your pet to a qualified Animal Behaviourist.
