We’ve had quite a busy autumn so far both working with animals and behind the scenes! Last week we had a photographer in to take pictures to update our website, there are some examples on our Facebook page and the new photos will appear as we update the other pages. We asked the staff to bring in their pets for the pictures and amongst the cats and dogs we had Cyril the Squirrel, a snake and guinea pigs! We also asked clients who dropped their pets off for surgery that day if it was OK for us to have photos of them, so some of these will also appear as time goes on.

We’ve registered as a rabbit friendly practice with the Rabbit Welfare Association,  http://www.rabbitwelfare.co.uk/ To do this we have to fulfill criteria laid down by the Association as well as appoint a Rabbit Advocate who is one of our nurses, Laura.  We had to change a few things to make the practice more rabbit friendly and further changes are planned.

We’ve been vaccinating rabbits against Viral Haemorrhagic Disease 2 (VHD 2). VHD 1 has been around for years but a new variant has now appeared and the vaccine has only been available from France and up until now we’ve had to import it specially for rabbits when owners request it. Currently there are moves for a vaccine to become more freely available in this country.

New Client Offer

For new clients, registering for the first time through our website we are offering a £10 credit against their first bill. See the website for details, but it is an ideal opportunity for new clients to get some money off their first visit.

Staff News

We welcome a new member of the nursing team, Marcella. She is mainly a receptionist so many of you will meet her or talk to her on the phone. She has been working in human healthcare but has experience working in a veterinary practice as well. It’s a steep, but exciting and rewarding learning curvecompanion_pet_photos for anyone joining the practice and she will hopefully become a valuable and popular member of the team.

As always, if you have any questions then you can phone us on 01772 330103 or e mail info@withygrovevets.co.uk
