Welcome to the first posting on the Withy Grove Blog, Wagging Tales. It seems sensible to start with a little history and introduction. The practice has been in existence since the 1970s, initially at Withy Grove House (now a Nursing Home) from whence it got its name. In 1986 it moved to the current site on Station road and the present owner, Michael Clarke (that’s me) took it over in 1990. Since then we have continued to grow and expand our services. Currently we have five full time veterinary surgeons and fourteen nurses who work a mix of full and part time hours
We’ve always believed in being at the vanguard of new developments and invest in new technology regularly (for instance we use the most modern anaesthetic agent, the same as used in human paediatric operations). However much technology we have we also try extremely hard to be a friendly and accommodating practice which loves and cares for your pets as well as giving the best service we can.
You can see our range of services on our website and if you have any suggestions then we are always glad to hear them.
We have just had our first, Fun Day, to help raise money for local animal charities, we managed to pick a day of torrential rain and wind but the day still seemed to go off well, including the outdoor barbecue which was huddled under a gazebo! We will be at Paws in the Park Leyland Festival on 7th and 8th July when we hope for better weather.
Well that’s it for the first post, more will follow.
