Last weekend we held our first ever ‘Fun Day’ to raise money for local animal charities. There are pictures on our Facebook site, but we managed to pick one of the many days at the moment when the heavens opened and so we had to squeeze into the church hall. The barbecue decided to continue outside under a gazebo and did remarkably well!
We are considering a couple of other fund raising events, firstly having an exercise bike in our reception and pedalling an equivalent number of miles ‘to’ somewhere. We are not sure where this place should be, Preston to London is one option but it would be nice for it to have some relevance to veterinary or animal work (Cat-mandu is too far!). If you have any ideas please let us know.
We are also planning an event for around Christmas time.
In the meantime, we are taking part in ‘Paws in the Park’ at the Leyland Festival on July 7th and 8th. This is a fun dog show which we attended last year. There are assorted classes but also many stalls to browse. It was an excellent weekend last year and, hoping the rain holds off, it should be again this year. At the Withy Grove Veterinary Clinic stall we will be giving out free advice again as well as micro-chipping your dog for the special price of only £5.00 and selling spot on flea products as well as dog and cat wormers at much reduced prices. Please come and visit us. Further details can be found at http://www.visitleyl…A5 DS Flyer.pdf
