Well we’ve pretty much recovered from our open day last Sunday. The event was conceived as an open day for our renovated premises, a launch for the Paws 4 Life club, a fundraising exercise for local animal charities as well as specific fundraising for Homeless Hounds who have to find a significant sum of money in order to find new kennels as their current ones are being closed.
Like so many events, the amount of work that goes into production is enormous, from our surgery it was largely taken on by one person, Maria, who knew, more or less, everything that was planned. As the day got closer the number of events mushroomed, we had dog agility, Tellington Touch, colouring competition, barbecue, the Deepdale Duck, raffles, stalls etc as well as Maria’s head shave for charity. More and more people got involved producing and helping on the day and you realise just how much work has to go into even the smallest events.
Anyway, everyone seemed to enjoy themselves, the weather held out and everything went more or less to plan and all the charities involved seem to have made some valuable funds.
We’ve published a lot of pictures on our Facebook page, here are a few more.
